Getting started with ForgeRock Identity Cloud journeys: Part 8 - Journey export and import

This is Part 8 of 8 in the series Getting started with ForgeRock Identity Cloud journeys.

Exporting and importing journeys ~5 minutes

A journey in the ForgeRock Identity Cloud can be exported from the Identity Cloud Admin UI. The exported journey in JSON format includes all its dependencies, inner journeys, and scripts, so can easily be imported into another Identity Cloud environment.

Exporting multiple journeys

  1. Log into your Identity Cloud Admin UI and go to Journeys.

  2. Select the journeys you would like to export.

  3. Click Export. The number in the parentheses displays the number of journeys you have selected to export.

  4. Review the information on the Export Journeys page.

  5. Click Export.

The journeys are saved as a single JSON file.

Exporting a single journey

  1. Log into your Identity Cloud Admin UI and go to Journeys.

  2. Click on the journey you would like to export.

  3. Click … to open the options.

  4. Click Export to open the Export Journey window.

  5. Click Export to download the journey as a JSON file.

Importing a journey

Importing a journey may overwrite existing journeys in Identity Cloud. To prevent this, the import operation provides an option to back up existing journeys.

It is recommended to download a backup of existing journeys in Identity Cloud during the import operation.

  1. Log into your Identity Cloud Admin UI and go to Journeys, and click Import.

  2. Click Download Backup.

  3. Once the backup file is downloaded, click Browse to select the journey JSON file to be imported and click Open.

  4. Click Next.

The Import Summary Page is displayed.

  5. Click Start Import.

The Journey is imported. A status message is displayed.

  6. Click Done.
